Workplace Safety and Certification

Make Safety a Value in Your Organization

Safety is not just the absence of incidents, but work performed in a way that reduces hazard and risk so that incidents do not occur. Organizations that understand this support development of their team members’ safety practice.

Build an Effective Safety Culture with Safety Certifications

To build an effective safety culture, an organization’s team members must own the responsibilities they each bear for safety. BCSP provides a comprehensive set of safety certifications that ensure team members have the required knowledge and skills. These certifications build safety leadership at every level, creating and maintaining an organization whose members share a mature safety culture.

Become a Certification Champion with BCSP Group Management

Organizations that value safety can use BCSP’s Group Management platform as part of their safety program, ultimately gaining recognition as a Certification Champion. Follow the steps below in the order they appear to sign up for group management, link credential holders to your group, and be recognized for championing safety.

1. Sign Up for Group Management

Gain access to exclusive tools that centralize the management, tracking, and support of team members’ achievement and maintenance of safety certification by signing up for Group Management.

Group Management includes:

  • Access to the Group Management platform, allowing a Group Account Manager to:
    • Support groups of applicants and exam candidates through convenient group organization and payment
    • Track the status of credential holders in their organization
    • Pay renewal fees for a group of credential holders in one payment

2. Link Group Members

Have applicants, candidates, or those who already hold BCSP credentials link to your organization from their BCSP profile. They can do this by logging in to My Profile on this site, selecting “Access Group Management,” and clicking on the link under “Linked Groups” to link to your group.

strong>Note: Individual team members must link themselves to an organization’s group account—Group Account Managers and BCSP staff are prohibited from linking individual accounts to any group account.

3. Be Recognized as a Certification Champion

When the individuals linked to your group hold five or more credentials with BCSP, you will be recognized as a Certification Champion, and will gain greater benefits the more credentials you champion.

Certification Champions:

  • Receive a Digital Badge and Certificate that can be used to demonstrate their commitment to safety
  • Gain recognition (based on number of credential holders) in BCSP media, including on the website, in digital media, and in exclusive video profiles

See Certification Champions Offerings (PDF) for further benefits and details.

Organizations that use safety certification as a regular component of their safety program may also utilize Onsite Exam Delivery (OED) to have BCSP deliver and proctor certification exams to groups of candidates at times and locations most convenient.
